Washing the baby... Washing Grandma's kitchen
Debbie just has showers at her house, so a couple times, we decided to bathe David in the kitchen sink. It was actually the first time he had a bath in the sink. He was quite squirmy & enjoyed splashing water all over the place. Debbie & I were cracking up at David having so much fun!
(I don't know how to rotate the video... if anyone does, feel free to comment or email me... thanks!)

Back on Track
The day is closing on Monday & I am getting back into the swing of things. David & I just returned Saturday from a week at Grandma Debbie's in California. We had a lot of fun & enjoyed catching up with each other as well as getting just a few things accomplished. But now that we're back home, there's quite a few things on my 'to-do' list that kept getting pushed back in the weeks before we left. The washing machine & dryer have been going all day, I vacuumed, loaded & unloaded the dishwasher & even cleaned up the bathroom! I feel quite accomplished! LOL Some days, it's a challenge to get some of these basic things around the house checked off my list. But today, David was a sweetie as I was determined to have a productive day. I'll be honest though, I did add a couple things to my list this afternoon, just to check them off.... you know you do it too.
So I'm feeling good! My treadmill is once again set up in the front room & provides more inspiration for me to keep on track with my other goals. You may remember late last summer, I was on a walking routine with my friend Ashley. Well, as fall weather trickled in, and sniffles & fevers caused a few sick days, our walking became more sparse. Then the holidays snuck up on me like never before & I had a few projects to complete for Christmas. Then of course, is the baking urge that breaks out in the winter especially. We still have unpredictable chilly, wet weather that entices us to stay snuggled under a blanket in front of the TV with hot cocoa. My goal is to walk every day.. even if it's just 10 minutes. I can watch the news or a favorite TV show while striding closer to my goals. In addition to the energy & better sleep that I desperatly desire... I basically am tired of looking like a snowman. When we have some more sunny days, hopefully David & I can get together with friends for walks outside. For now, it's noisy toys for him & treadmill for Mama. Wish me luck! ;)

Giggle Box

I was in the kitchen the other day (prob 2 weeks or so ago) when I heard Jamin playing with David in his room. They were both laughing up a storm & seemed to be having lots of fun. Jamin called me to come & see what they were doing. Of course, I grabbed the camera & headed back. Jamin was dropping a toy dog onto David's head & David laughed every time. The video doesn't even do it justice... this went on for a while & we were both just cracking up. Silly kid!

Grandma & Grandpa's for Sunday Dinner
Many Sunday evenings are spent at Grandma & Grandpa's house these days. After supper, we have fun around the table, chatting & playing games. David was very interested in our game of Farkle (I've also heard it called 10,000) & Grandpa's scorecard. He started in a sitting position & leans so far over that he ends up on his belly. It's the beginning of trying to crawl & he's anxious to move about! Lately, David has also been pulling himself to a standing position while hanging on to someone's hands or a chair. He's getting so big so quickly!

I married my best friend

Today, Jamin & I celebrate our third wedding anniversary. Our wedding day was a long one, but most definitely the best day of my life. It was a special day - Friday the 13th - blessed with rain (good luck, you know)
This year, we decided forgo a gift exchange & instead share with each other ten reasons why we love the other. I've been working on my list for a few weeks & have really enjoyed thinking about when we fell in love & how we have grown. I am so grateful for my handsome, strong, loving, supportive, funny, wonderful husband. He has taught me what true love is.
Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart! I am more in love with you than ever! You make my life so full of happiness!

Six Months Old!
Christmas Eve, David turned six months old! WOW! We were warned that time would fly & it sure has! Half a year gone already! David's six month Well Baby Check-up was Monday & he was a brave little boy when he received his shots -three of them! He cried a little & then when we were scheduling his next appointment, he was all smiles again. Can you believe he has grown 7.5 inches since he was born? Sheesh! David is currently 28" long & 17lbs, 10oz. Pretty big kid. Happy & Healthy & quite the charmer. Here he is last Sunday, charming Grandma & Grandpa. I don't think I would get away with taking over the kitchen table like that! LOL! He's on the verge of crawling & very interested in our game of farkle. It's crazy that he may actually be crawling in a month or so .. it's all coming so fast!
Does this diaper make my butt look big?
whatcha doin', Grandpa?
mmm... yummy slobbery fingers

Happy New Year!
What a year it has been! The words for 2008 that immediately come to mind are: anticipation, new, adventure, blessed, loved and amazing. This was one life-changing year for our little family. We went from two to three, a working woman to a stay-at-home mom, started a blog, Jamin has been moving up in his career. We've been blessed to have family visit & also visit family (David has taken two plane trips already & been in four states! -all before turning five months old!). We are so grateful for the gifts from our Heavenly Father. David is a happy & healthy baby boy who is growing astonishingly before our eyes. We've been challenged with the new experiences of parenthood & we've also been blessed with the talent, strength & humility to make it through. This is only the beginning of our journey & we know we have so much more to look forward to. Milestones will rush past us as we speed along the highway of this mortal life. So my goal is to continue to work on living in & enjoying the moment - "find joy in the journey" (as President Monson teaches)
May you relish life as you live it. May we all find peace in our daily travels. May continue to grow toward being the wife, mother sister, daughter, friend that our families & friends deserve.
Sending love to each & every one of you as you embark on this new year of new experiences!

SWAK
Jeri has been off school this week & last for winter break. I think when I was in elementary school they still called it Christmas break - but that's another blog post altogether! LOL! Jeri was out & about today & stopped by for some David-lovin'. He got all excited & interested in the phone when she called & then when she showed up at our door, he had a big smile for her. She resisted blowing his neck since she was wearing lipstick - which, I know, is a tough challenge since David is such a giggle-box when you get him in his ticklish spots. Jeri couldn't leave without planting a lipstick stamped kiss on his forehead... so, of course, I had to take a picture of my cutie-patootie ;) Thanks again for stopping by Jeri & for your thoughtfulness! With a teething boy (I swear, he turns into a completely different child in the evenings!), I've been kinda tired & not a very cheerful mama. It was a great pick-me-up for our day! :D
